Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen, 'Oxford' high backed desk chair, aluminum, wood, fabric upholstery, United Kingdom, design 1965, recent production. The original version of the 'Oxford' chair was designed for the professors at St. Catherine’s College in Oxford. Later on Arne Jacobsen developed the design into different models. This chair features an extra high back that shows an organic line and floats over into the seat. This shell is built out of molded wood covered with foam and upholstered in green fabric (looks somewhat beige in the photos). The armrests as well as the five-star base with round toes are shown in satin-polished aluminum.
